Culture, Climate & Nature Innovation Lab
An Initiative by MPCEN (Media Project on Conservation, Environment & Nature)
🌍 Overview
CCN Innovation Lab is a climate-focused media and innovation platform working at the intersection of culture, climate, and nature. It empowers youth, women, and frontline communities to become storytellers, communicators, and changemakers.
The lab transforms climate awareness into skills, opportunities, and action through storytelling, digital media, and community engagement.
🎯 Our Approach: Citizen Climate Journalism
At the core of CCN Innovation Lab is Citizen Climate Journalism—a model that places communities, especially women, at the center of storytelling.
We enable participants to:
- Document local climate realities and lived experiences
- Produce digital stories, short films, and media content
- Amplify underrepresented voices
- Connect storytelling with advocacy and visibility
This ensures climate narratives are locally rooted and globally relevant.
🌿 What is CCN (Culture, Climate & Nature)
CCN Multimedia (Culture, Climate & Nature) is the storytelling engine of the lab.
It explores the relationship between people, environment, and heritage while building a new generation of storytellers who can communicate climate realities through a cultural lens.
Through CCN, we:
- Train women and youth in digital storytelling
- Build a network of grassroots climate communicators
- Produce stories that connect culture with environmental change
- Create pathways for visibility, impact, and income
Women at the Forefront
Women are among the most affected by climate change, yet remain underrepresented in media and leadership.
CCN Innovation Lab prioritizes:
- Training women as climate storytellers
- Creating safe and inclusive learning environments
- Supporting leadership through storytelling
- Enabling women to shape climate narratives and solutions
